Typing features in Addiyon Keyboard

A native Android keyboard designed around Amharic and the Ge’ez script: accurate Latin-to-Fidel typing, full Ethiopic characters, on-device suggestions, and AI quick edits when you want them.

1. Complete Amharic support

   Every Fidel letter in all seven orders, plus special characters, word spacing, and labialized forms. The full syllabary, nothing missing.

2. All Ge’ez numbers

   The complete set of Ethiopic numerals, ፩ ፪ ፫ … ፲ ፳ … ፻ ፼, for writing dates, prices and lists the traditional way.

3. Voice input

   Tap the microphone to dictate through Android’s speech-recognition service, right from the keyboard.

4. Live Latin → Fidel transliteration

   Type the sound and get the script. This Amharic transliteration keyboard re-reads the whole word on every keystroke so it stays correct as you go, shown as an underlined composing preview until you commit.

5. Offline suggestions and next-word prediction

   Completions and next-word predictions come from a large Amharic dictionary on your phone, with no connection required. Tap inside an earlier word to fix it from the suggestions.

6. Swipe typing

   Glide across the letters to write whole Amharic or English words. Typing stays fast on budget phones too, and the letter popup can be turned on or off.

7. Learns your words

   Words you type often move up in suggestions, and you can add your own words and shortcuts. Your personal dictionary stays on your phone, and you can remove any word or clear it all. Nothing is learned in password fields.

8. AI quick edits

   A bar above the keys offers Fix grammar, Casual, Humanize, Professional, Formal, Friendly, Shorten and Summarize. Tap one and the text in your field is rewritten, in Amharic or English; tap undo to get your own words back. It is free with a daily allowance, asks you to sign in once with Google or an email code, and is off in password fields. Reorder the edits or hide the bar in Settings › AI actions.

9. English layout included

   A standard QWERTY English keyboard is built in, so you can switch between Amharic and English with a single tap.

10. Themes

    16 colors and 9 key styles you can mix freely, each with a light and a dark set that follows your phone, plus a color that matches your wallpaper. Addiyon Pro, where Google Play offers it, adds Aurora, Galaxy, Sunset and more, Glass, RGB and Mechanical keys, and about 10,000 AI edits a month.
